Presence ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website (presencelab.io), our iOS application, and related services operated by Presence Lab.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Account information (email address, display name)
• Profile information (profile picture)
• Focus session data (times, durations, completions)
• Social connections (friends you add)
• Email addresses you submit on our website waitlist forms

Website (presencelab.io)

When you visit our marketing site, we use Google Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase / GA4) to collect aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, general geography, device type, and engagement. This helps us understand traffic and improve the site. Firebase may use cookies or similar technologies in the browser as described in Google's documentation.

The live “focusing now” counter and similar public stats are read from our Firebase database; your browser connects to Firebase to display those aggregate figures. We do not use this mechanism to identify individual visitors by name from that number alone.

Mobile app (iOS)

In addition to the account and focus data above, the app uses Firebase Analytics to measure product usage (for example onboarding, key screens, and subscription-related flows) so we can improve the product. We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and stability diagnostics (such as stack traces and device/OS version) to fix bugs. We may associate analytics events with a pseudonymous app user identifier (for example your Firebase user ID) to understand journeys across sessions. We do not use Presence for cross-app advertising tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, and we do not show you the ATT prompt for that purpose.

RevenueCat and Apple process subscription and purchase-related data when you buy or restore Presence Pro. Their use of data is governed by their respective policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain our service
• Track your focus sessions and streaks
• Enable social features with friends
• Send notifications about your focuses (when you opt in)
• Improve our app and website, measure funnels, and fix crashes
• Operate waitlists and communicate about product launches
• Comply with law and enforce our terms

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With friends you connect with (display name, profile picture, focus activity)
• With service providers who process data on our behalf, including Google (Firebase, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, and related infrastructure), RevenueCat, and Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, subscriptions)
• If required by law or to protect rights and safety

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. Your data is stored and transmitted using Firebase and other providers that use industry-standard safeguards.

• Delete your account and associated in-app data (subject to legal retention limits)
• Opt out of push notifications in iOS Settings or in the app
• For certain jurisdictions, request correction, restriction, or objection—contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law

Deleting your account removes your use of the service from our systems as described in the app; some aggregated or de-identified analytics may remain in provider logs according to their retention policies.

7. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
